There seldom is any snow in the winter. If you pick the “Buy it now” option, this house comes with a free nice little 1990 BMW 325i convertible youngtimer + a free exceptionally well-taken-care of, beautiful 1975 Glastron 156 boat. Both are in excellent mechanical condition and ready to go. Boating is easy and you don’t need a license for this boat. I will give you a 4 hour introduction course or teach you to drive it until you are absolutely comfortable – whatever comes first J. Both the Glastron boat BMW convertible easily fit into the large double garage with lots of space left - no storage costs whatsoever. More importantly, you won't have any weathering nor corrosion by the outside elements of these two beautiful vehicles while you keep them garaged - which significantly reduces maintenance costs. We see dolphins in the Galveston Bay on a regular basis, especially when you go past the Kemah Boardwalk. Kemah in itself offers a wide variety of activities and excellent restaurants, whether you get there by boat or car and it is only 5 min away by car from your home. c) You want to move to a very well maintained, exceptionally large well laid-out one-story house in this area: This house is in very good overall shape and has been well maintained for many years. The interior is very friendly and gets plenty of sunlight when where you want it. It has a very well designed layout by the quality builder "Perry Homes", which allows you to use the many rooms in various ways. We have most appreciated its versatility and construction quality, resulting in relatively low maintenance costs. Non-smoker house no pets live in it - but you can certainly bring your pets. A beautiful wooden floor runs through the entire house, with exception of the 4 carpeted bedrooms and the 2.5 tiled bathrooms. All flooring (wood, carpets tiles) are in good condition. The whole region and especially this area has enjoyed relatively stable housing values during the recent crisis and housing prices are back on the rise. We looked at and considered many, many other houses, often far more expensive ones. But we ended up buying what was a truly picture-perfect dream home for us from good friends. This was almost six years ago and our friends, too, had lived in this house for several years until receiving relocation orders. We, too, would just love to take this house everything that comes along with it with us, but we'll have to leave for job-related reasons. Both our friends and we had done major research and looked at many alternatives, including Downtown Houston and Galveston Island. We did not think that anything compared to this at all (certainly not within budget limits) for the following reasons: - The neighbors are really great and there is a strong sense of community. Everybody has lawn chairs on the front lawn which we move around to the occasion. It is very pleasant to hang out in the sun or in the shade of the large pine and oak trees in your own or somebody else’s front yard. If you are up to it, you can always gang up with the rest for a chat and a few drinks outside on many pleasant evenings. Join when you want to, there will be many opportunities. - This is an extremely quiet cul-de-sac. There is no thru-traffic and the kids can play on the street because the neighbors watch out and drive carefully. - There hardly is any boating- nor traffic-noise from the adjacent environment - which is a result of this particular street's fantastic location. - This is especially true for the bedroom location in this house. It is amazingly quiet at night and a result of this neighborhood's great location. Keep in mind that we spend one third of our life sleeping and a good night's sleep is priceless. Peacefully watch the moon and the sun rise through the cathedral-style windows. - The backyard gives you maximum outdoor privacy. There is not a single window from an adjacent house looking into this particular backyard. Enjoy the secludedness, peace and quiet from your other activities. We loved the backyard as is, no need to change anything. You could certainly also install a pool or hot whirl-pool in it, but there are just so many other opportunities for that. Currently, it is still set up as an adventure playground and my kids display all the sea-shells they collected in Galveston on the fences. You can either just keep the whole playground or I will take it down and suspend a swing bench from the oak tree's large vertical branch. - You have two community pools in your walking distance vicinity. One of many opportunities for some fresh water fun laps. They are accessible from your home via small park trails, which can be used by walkers, joggers and bikers only. - It is close enough to exceptionally good schools an exceptionally good golf-course, which you can walk, bike or drive your golf-caddy to in "no time". Yet, you are far enough away to be negatively affected by any noise nor activities (A friend of ours got hit in the head by a long range golf ball at his house, in addition to the typical broken windows they have had... :-). - Despite the secludedness and quietness surrounding this home, you have all necessary shopping facilities, many restaurants and much more within a short walking, biking or extremely short driving distance. This includes many top-rated out- and indoor sporting and leisure activities within biking distance. South Shore Harbour also has one of the most beautiful fitness clubs in the country, which has in- outdoor pools and tennis courts, different types of saunas and much more. - Broaden your horizons! Keep learning new viewpoints and gain new knowledge both socially and in science. Learn about other cultures and expand your views even beyond the earthly boundaries. The Clear Lake region has many international influxes, including those coming from NASA's Johnson Space Center, the heart of the nation's human space flight program. NASA has been operating the International Space Station for over ten years with its many partner countries like Russia, Japan, Canada and 10 member states of the European Space Agency. Astronauts from these countries train here at the Johnson Space Center, supported by staff from all over the world. The Johnson Space Center executes these space missions from the famous Mission Control Center Houston and has many communications and public relations events for the general public to meet the astronauts and engage in space activities.
